Chennai: Actor Kamal Haasan has approached the Karnataka High Court challenging the ban imposed by the Karnataka Film Chamber on his upcoming film “Thug Life,” directed by Mani Ratnam.
The Chamber claimed the film insulted the Kannada language, based on Kamal’s remarks during the film’s audio launch, where he said Kannada evolved from Tamil.
The BJP and several Kannada language organizations reacted strongly, accusing him of demeaning the Kannada language. BJP state president B. Vijayendra criticized Kamal, stating one should not belittle other languages while praising their own.Chennai: Actor Kamal Haasan has approached the Karnataka High Court challenging the ban imposed by the Karnataka Film Chamber on his upcoming film “Thug Life,” directed by Mani Ratnam.
