Indian intelligence agencies have obtained key information suggesting that terror attacks were planned in India even before the recent Pahalgam incident. This came to light following the arrest of ISI agent Ansarul Miyan Ansari in Delhi. Authorities recovered crucial classified military documents from him, reportedly shared with Pakistan’s ISI.
Another suspect, Akhlaq Asami, was detained in Ranchi for allegedly assisting Ansari in passing sensitive information. Reports also suggest involvement of two Pakistani High Commission officials, including Musafileen, who was recently expelled from India.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar responded strongly to Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir, labeling him a religious extremist. He reiterated that religion played a significant role in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, allegedly backed by Pakistan. Meanwhile, operations continued in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar region, where a gunfight between militants and Indian forces is ongoing.
