THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Students Union (KSU) has called for a statewide educational strike (education bandh) on Thursday. The protest comes in response to the alleged assault and detention of senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, by the Delhi Police in New Delhi.
As part of the statewide agitation, KSU announced that student activists will burn effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across college campuses in Kerala.
Protests Over NEET Paper Leak Escalated in New Delhi
The incidents in New Delhi unfolded on Tuesday when Congress leaders held a demonstration outside the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The protest was organised to condemn police action against a Parliament march led by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP).
The CJP march had been demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities and question paper leaks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
