Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team questioned D. Mani in the Sabarimala gold robbery. The SIT has confirmed that D. Mani’s real name is Balamurugan. The questioning is continuing.
D. Mani, known as Diamond Mani, is a native of Dindigul. He was a diamond merchant in his early days. That is why he got the name Diamond Mani, the SIT found. The plan was to make a transaction of 1000 crores in Kerala.
The SIT has also identified the middleman, Sreekrishna. The expatriate businessman has also revealed that this gang is still moving around with money to smuggle idols. The expatriate’s statement is that D. Mani and his gang were introduced to people associated with Jayalalithaa.
