To Enjoy the rainy season, Alappuzha in Kerala will be the most suitable place for it. Alappuzha- Venice of the East, well known as Aleppy, recently won the HolidayIQ Better Holiday Award for ‘India’s favorite Waterfront Destination’. This most recent award conferred to Kerala Tourism shows that Alleppey still holds on to its old-world charm. Over the years since Curzon visited the place and remarked on its beauty, Alleppey has grown to become a bustling city wit h the usual hustle and commotion usually associated with a modern Indian city. But the canals and backwaters remain just as they were; calm and relaxing. Head to the houseboats along the backwaters of Alleppey, and you would forget that you were in a city. The urban jungle gives way to lush greenery, villages and homes by the waterfront and local toddy . Alleppey alone welcomes thousands of tourists every year to its freshwater lakes, canals and backwaters. With its beaches, backwaters, paddy fields and houseboats, Alleppey makes for a great place to unwind and just enjoy the food, drinks and lazy ambiance.

The Department of Water Transport has provided an opportunity for tourists to enjoy the boat by boat.

Tourist boat service will be conducted in Vembanad, Ashtamudi, Kayamkulam from Alappuzha to Kollam. You will have a chance to visit the historic places and backwaters in between Alappuzha and Kollam. The charge is Rs 400 per hour.

Two services will begin soon at Vaikom - Ernakulam and Alappuzha - Kumarakom - Kottayam route. Luxury AC The service is carried by boats and ordinary boats. For this, double-decker boats are used for nature friendly and solar energy. These are made of barking wood.

Wi-Fi, mobile charging and television will also be available on the boat.
