After Facebook started giving access to the users without a net connection, another popular social networking site – Twitter too has come forward with a similar thought. The 140 character messaging service of Twitter, which has a following of over 230 million people worldwide, has reached on an agreement with U2opia Mobile. Some 11 million people use U2opia’s Fontwish service, which allows them to access Facebook and Google Talk without a net connection.

Speaking on the occasion, U2opia’s chief executive and co – founder Sumesh Menon said that the company’s telecom protocol – USSD goes hand in hand with Twitter. He further explained that Twitter, primarily being a text driven platform will find USSD – which doesn’t allow viewing of pictures, videos or other graphics, extremely helpful.

The company said that they will launch their twitter service in the first quarter of 2014.
