At least 37 people were killed in landslides in Vietnam and 40 people have gone missing. Thousands of houses and farms have been destroyed. 16740 houses were damaged. At least 11 people were killed and 21 others were found missing in the northern province of Novabïn.  Two lakh people are being evicted. Despite the rainstorm and loss of life in Vietnam, this sort of devastating loss has not happened recently.

Vietnam often suffers from destructive storms and floods due to its long coastline. More than 200 people were killed in storms last year.
