Trade Unions called Nationwide Strike; The 48 Hour Strike will start from midnight of January 7

Thiruvananthapuram: The trade unions have been called for a nationwide strike January 8 and 9 protesting Modi government policies. The 48 hours of strike start at 12 am on January 7. The central trade union with other organizations like Left Peasant Wings, AIKS and Bhumi Adhikar Andolan also join in the two-day strike.

The strike will remain till Wednesday night. Milk, newspapers, hospitals, tourism, Sabarimala pilgrims are avoided from the strike. The strike will not affect the public life, said the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The trade union also assured that will not make any trouble to the public life. Will not forced to shut the shops, and the private vehicle will not be blocked by the strike supporters, said the trade unions.

Meanwhile, trains will be blocked part of the strike. The BMS will keep away from the strike. At least 19 trade union likely to join in this strike. The motor, banking, insurance workers will join in the strike. The farmers also support the strike. The merchant association will not join in the strike.

The strike demanding the price hike, unemployment, minimum wage assurance, and pension, fuel price hike, insurance premium hike withdrawing, implementing of MVA, reports said.
