Padmavat reaches theaters today; Heavy security launched in North India

Padmavhat will be released in theaters today. There is tremendous security launched by the government in North India. The Karni Sena activists called for Bharat Bandh as the part of protest, reports said.

Four states - Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh - protested against the film. A bus carrying school children was attacked at Guragram in Haryana. Several vehicles and multiplexes were destroyed. The Karnisena activists disrupted traffic on the main roads. Police detained over 30 people in Haryana's violence. In Jammu Kashmir theater was attacked. The train was stopped at Bhubaneswar railway station in Madurai in Uttar Pradesh last week.

In Uttar Pradesh, the government has promised to provide security to film theaters. As the protests become stronger, Multiplex Association of India has stated that the film will not be screened in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. Padmavath cinema is releasing at 4800 centers around the country. The preview of the film was held at several centers earlier.
