* ONE WORD : Kaattu will be a best tribute for P. Padmarajan Sir, a good classical work.

* STORY IDEA :
The plot of the movie deals with life of Chellapan (Murali Gopi) and Nuhukannu (Asif Ali). Nuhukannu is an innocent boy who is ready to work for any job and Chellapan is fond of ladies and they both work with Moopan in making high crackers for festivals. Rest of the story tells the further life of both these guys followed by some twist and turns.

* OVERVIEW TO STORY, SCREENPLAY & DIRECTION :
The direction of the movie was handled by Arun Kumar Aravind and based on the story of Padmarajan and the the movie was written by  was by Ananthapadmanabhan. Arun Kumar Aravind always come up with new genres and this time also an another good notable work. As the story of P Padmarajan the plot was having a different backdrop followed with the screenplay of his son Ananthapadmanabhan. The way the movie  travels is completely different than a viewers imagination and the story won't be easily digestible for every viewers but for those who wish to watch a serious classic movie like 70's Kaattu will be a perfect choice. The story have romance, actions, comedies, twist and turns and all those components makes the movie engaging till the end. The characteristic qualities to each and every characters was portrayed well by the writer. The Emotions plays a crucial role in this movie which shows lots of significance and importance of relationships. Towards the mid of the second part the movie unfolds to a revenge backdrop and it was brilliant which was followed by humours. The connecting factors to its climax was well also convincing but the moving leads of the plot was predictable. The direction of Arun Kumar Aravind was outstanding, the entire direction was passionate according to its story and also the direction managed the real impact of its story without lagging. The dialogues written by Ananth Padmanabhan was also strong and powerful which conserved the true impact of the compete writing. The direction of Arun Kumar Aravind and the writing of Ananth Padmanabhan had maintained the soul of the story of Padmarajan Sir.

* PERFORMANCE OF ACTORS :
The movie have the casting of Asif Ali, Murali Gopi, Varalaxmi Sharthkumar, Manasa Radhakrishnan, Shebin Beson and Unni Rajan. P Dev. Every actors behind the screen had performed well. Asif Ali as Nuhukannu did an outstanding job.. The way he portrayed the character was amazing. The innocence in the character Nuhukannu was well played played by Asif Ali and no doubt the performance in Kaattu will be remembered forever in the career of Asif Ali. As usual Murali Gopi once again rocked by an energetic performance. The seriousness in his character was beautifully shown by Murali Gopi and also the actions and stunts were good. Varalaxmi Sharthkumar as Muthulakshmi come up with an extended cameo role and the performance was good. Unni Rajan. P Dev character wa having a humour and negative touch and the performance was good. Manasa Radhakrishnan as Ummukkulsu and Shebin Beson as the friend of the central character Nuhukannu did their respective characters well.

* MUSIC AND BGM :
The Musical work of the movie was composed by Deepak Dev. The three songs were really good for the scenario and the title song which was sung by Jyothsna was melodious with Tamil lyrics. Murali Gopi had also singed a song which was good. The background score was also perfectly matching for each and every scenes. The BGM tunes had made a good flow and impact for every scenes especially for the romance and emotional scenes.

* TECHNICAL ASPECTS :
The technical division of the movie had worked out well because the Cinematography, Art Direction, Editing and Costume Design was at top class. The cinematography by Prasanth Raveendran was magical and every frames of evening dawn was captured magically. The natural frames of village and the visuals of ocean was also shot amazingly. The camera movements for the action sequence was also perfect and Prathap Raveendran's Art Direction was outstanding. The art set work showing the traditional methods of day to day life and the festival set was shown brilliantly. The editing was also done by the director Arun Kumar Aravind and the editing work was neat and clean, couldn't find any mismatches.

* CONCLUSION :
So overall the movie KAATTU won't be everyone's cup of tea because the movie doesn't come up with any kind of commercial stuff but the movie is completely a pure classic work of art. I will recommend this brilliantly executed movie for those who are seeking for a good cinema.
