Durga is allowed to be Exibit at the Goa International Film Festival

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has given permission for the screening of the movie S. Durga directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan in the International Film Festival of Goa. The High Court verdict has been issued on the petition filed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, against the removal of the film from the Indian Panorama.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development intervened by S Durga and Marathi film 'Nude' from the Indian panorama section of the Goa festival.Protesting over the issue, Jury chairman Sujay Ghosh and jury member Amrita Asrani resigned from positions.  The jury members Sasthpa Sanyal, Suresh Heelikar, Gopi Desai, Sachin Chateau, Ruchi Narain and Hari Viswanath have written to Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani for reviewing the exclusion of pictures.

The name of Sexy Durga was renamed S Durga under the direction of the Censor Board, which was exhibited in a number of international festivals and was acknowledged. The film is being dropped out of Goa IFFI, over the controversy surrounding it. Mahesh Narayan's 'Take Off' is the another Malayalam movie in Indian panoramas.
