* ONE WORD : An Anthology film of 10 Short Movies sadly 4 of them won the attention.

1: ORU RATRIYUDE COOLI
* Directed by : MADHUPAL
* Staring : PADMAPRIYA

 ORU RATRIYUDE COOLI tells about the life of  a prostitute. The name of the title itself denotes an inner meaning hiding in the plot. This story and it's ending will definitely make the viewers delightful and also it denotes the real elements of a mothers care and love. The performance of Padma Priya deserves a big applause. The making of Madhupal was having a brilliant execution for a touching movie.
* VERDICT : VERY GOOD
*   RATING :  3.5/5

2: KAVAL :
* Directed by : NEMAM PUSHPARAJ
* Staring : PRIYANKA NAIR

KAVAL tells about the life of a soldiers wife. The story points out the insecure life of a wife who is not living with her husband. In fact the insecurities the plot mainly focus on her bold decisions and her determination for the survival by negating all the other third eyes. The story also shows a good bond of mother and son relationship with real love and care. But sadly the direction and screenplay was not steady as the plot. According to its story the screenplay was not worked out well and the dialogues was felt overdramatic. The background score also lacks the impact for the emotional scenes and the editing was also weak. The acting of Priyanka Nair saved this short movie to a level.
* VERDICT : ABOVE AVERAGE
*   RATING : 2.75/5

3: PAKSHIKALUDE MANAM :
* Directed by : NAYANA SOORYAN
*  Staring : MYTHILI, VIJAY BABU, CHETAN and SIDHARTHA SIVA.

PAKSHIKALUDE MANAM tells about the life of a women who is an ornithologist ( a person who studies about birds). The story mainly points out the dreams of the central character to find a rare bird. The main factor which the story denotes is the determined moving steps of the central character for pursuing her final dream with extreme level of difficulties and sacrifices. The story have a notable theme but the execution for this movie was mediocre because the screenplay was repetitive and its dialogue was too dramatic. The cinematography was excellent with good frames of inner forest and the close up shots of various birds and tress was shown beautifully. Vijay Babu, Chetan and Sidhartha Siva did their respective roles perfectly and Mythili had come up with a decent acting. But sadly the direction and dialogues doesn't impressed much.
* VERDICT : ABOVE AVERAGE
* RATING : 2.5/5

4: MOUNAM :
* Directed by :  BABU THIRVALLA
* Staring : MANASA RADHAKRISHNAN, SEEMA.G. NAIR and ANU MOHAN.

MOUNAM tells about the life a young girl who is forced by her family to become a Nun for avoid the curse of her family. This stories also tells the dreams of a young girl who wish to become a poet and also the plot denotes her sacrifices for the family by leaving all her loved things. The concept was ok but the direction was really bad and also the dialogues was too much cliched. The frames were good with decent visualisation of beach. The acting of Manasa was good and the performance of Seema.G.Nair was touching as the mother of the central character. Anu Mohan was having less screen presence but the acting was decent. The direction and the screenplay destroys this short movie to an extreme level.
* VERDICT : BELOW AVERAGE
* RATING : 2/5

5: BADAR :
* Directed by  : ASHOK. R. NATH
* Staring : MAMTA MOHANDAS, BABU ANOOR, KAILASH and KOCHU PREMAN

As a true story the incident which the movie implies will make every viewers wonder. The story was having powerful factors of Hindu-Muslim religion. The morals of both these religion was shown beautifully which was heart touching. The direction was also bright and the screenplay was also steady for its plot but sadly the performance of actors was above average still not fully. Some conversations between Mamta and Babu Anoor was overdramatic. At some areas their modulation in telling out the dialogues were poor. The acting of Mamta Mohandas was amazing and hats off to the director Ashok.R.Nath for choosing  a tough subject life this.
* VERDICT : WORTH WATCH
* RATING : 3.5/5

6: MUDRA :
* Directed by :
* Staring : ISHA TALWAR, ANJALI ANEESH UPASANA

MUDRA mainly points out the dance form and friendship. The central characters for this movie was performed by Isha Talwar and Anjali Aneesh Upasana. The story was not having anything new, and similarities to the Super Hit movie Kadha Parayumbol was felt in many areas.  Due to the short duration the friendship shown in the movie was having less deepness. A flashback is showing in between the movie to show the depth of the friendship but sadly it was overdramatic and the two kids who performed in it also disappoints by passing out the dialogues unnaturally. The frames of Bharathanatyam was amazing but the making was also decent but the story and the screenplay made this movie just average.
* VERDICT : AVERAGE
*   RATING : 2.5/5

7: LAKE HOUSE :
* Directed by : SASHI PARAVOOR
* Staring : RICHA PANAI, RAHUL MADHAV, SHOBHA MOHAN.

LAKE HOUSE offers a complete cliched and overdramatic story with a poor screenplay adjusting along with an average direction. The entire plot was predictable and the twist and turns which the makers had aimed doesn't get its impact. Lake House tells about different emotions like the love of a wife to spend her time with her husband, the relationship of a mother and father towards their child, hopes and believes of different characters etc but none of them was not able to portray well by the makers. The climax turn and suspense in the movie was horrible. Richa Panai was looking cute but the cuteness was not found her acting because lip sinking issues was felt at many areas and the emotional scenes was not well performed. The combination scenes of Rahul Madhav and Richa Panai was just ok. Overall The Lake House had given a disgusting experience in all aspects.
* VERDICT : POOR
* RATING : 1.5/5

8: KODESHYAN :
* Directed by PRADEEP NAIR
* Written by JAYARAJ
* Staring : Kanchana (Amma )

Among the 10 films this was my favourite short movie because it have an extra ordinary touching story which will definitely melt the heart of every viewers. The lonely life of a grand mother on an advanced living style was brilliantly shown by the makers. The direction was also excellent according it its story. The movie also shows a good moral side on taking care the old age people. Kanjana who played the role of the grand mother had performed outstandingly.  The direction of PRADEEP NAIR was perfect according to the story of Jayaraj and the final implementation for each and every scenes deserves a big thumps up.
* VERDICT : EXCELLENT
*   RATING : 3.75/5

9: CHERIVE :
* Directed by AVIRA REBECCA
* Staring : SRINDA ARHAAN, MANOJ.K.JAYAN

CHERIVU tells about a dark thriller movie followed with situational comedies.. The plot is predictable and but the screenplay is good. The movie tells about a girl who takes a private taxi from a local junction for reaching a high range place but she soon faces lots of challenges to overcome some issues. It's a movie with a thriller backdrop and it's enjoyable by situational comedies. The ending was also decent with a comedy track. The performance of Srinda Arhaan was amazing and Manoj.K. Jayan did his respective character convincingly with dark shade outlook. The story was having some similarities to Anjali Menon's Happy Journey but still Cherivu was enjoyable.
* VERDICT : GOOD
* RATING : 2.75/5

10: PINVE NADAPAVAL :
* Directed by LENIN RAJENDRAN
* Staring : ANJANA CHANDRAN and JOY MATHEW

PINVE NADAPAVAL will be hard to digest for every audience because it had a unique storyline followed with a different making style of Lenin Rajendran. Till the climax, the movie travels on a stage drama by a solo performance of the central character in which she points out the real troubles of the life of young girl's life who moves to a married life before getting matured. Sacrificing her own life was also shown brilliantly. The story was extremely powerful and the entire execution was outstanding. The performance of Anjana Chandran was fabulous till the end. The cinematography captures the best close up shots of different emotions of the central character which was brilliant.. The songs and background had also perfectly sinked for the scenario. It all about the Lenin Rajendran's brilliance.
* VERDICT : OUTSTANDING
* RATING : 4/5

* CONCLUSION :
So overall Crossroad ended up as an above average anthology movie which resulted out as an ok movie. The attempt for showing the power of femininity was good but only partially won in passing the final impacts.
* FINAL VERDICT  : AVERAGE
* TOTAL GRADE : B
* OVERALL  RATING : 2/5
