Two hundred and twenty thousand people in camps in the Alappuzha district

Alappuzha: Alappuzha district collector S Suhaas informed in the press conference that 2,50,000 people living in the camps are in the district. He was describing the activities that have been carried out on the floods in the district. Over the past 48 hours, thousands of camps were started in the district. About 90% of the population was evacuated in Kuttanad. In the past 48 hours, only one lakh persons were discharged in Kuttanad alone. People still continue in some of the narrow areas. They have taken steps to provide food for small boats. Within 48 hours, 200 houseboats, 100 motor boats, fifty speed boats, 4 junkars, 500 barracks, and boats of the Road Transport Department were used. These have completed more than 15,000 trips. It is decided to complete the discharge in various parts of the district on Sunday. About 95- 98% of the expatriates are expected to get out. All of the spruce leaves to float down the water are also widely dispersed. On the sixteenth day after the warnings at Chengannur, 20,000 people were evacuated from flooding areas. Already warned and evacuated some people. Even today, some people did not want to go away.

However, 60-70 per cent of the people in Chengannur have been evacuated from accidents. Pandanad evacuated nearly 80% of the people. Chengannur has started 13 camps. More than one lakh people sought shelter in the camps. Out of the seven teams of NDRF, 220 are active, the Navy has 10 groups and two groups have been working with 15 boats.
