Okhi; Rescued 544 people, 92 People yet to be recovered

Kochi: Around 544 people were rescued from the sea in after the cyclonic storm on Monday. Officials say 92 more people have yet to find out. Four more bodies identified at the Medical College Hospital were discovered yesterday. The bodies were identified by the bodies of Poonthura Lazar, Arogyadas, Xavier Luis and Christy. The other deceased have been identified as Viktar (37), Rajiv, Viswanathan (Punalur), Sunil Kumar (30) from Kasargod, Pavithran (55) from Kannur, and Rexon, Treesamma and Suabiaya from Kanyakumari.

The bodies of 11 persons in yet to be identified in Thiruvananthapuram, authorities said. Of these, 41 are still being under the treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The revenue department has estimated a loss of Rs 25.78 crore. 74 houses completely damaged and 1,122 houses partially damaged. Agriculture destroyed 1231.73 hectares. At present, 1445 still remain in 34 relief camps.
