Jishnu Pranoy: CBI takes over the probe in the Death, Reports

Kochi: The CBI has taken over the investigation into the death of Jishnu Pranoy, an engineering student. The CBI filed for FIR before the chief judicial magistrate court of Ernakulam. The case was registered under Section 174 of CrPC for unnatural death.

The FIR was prepared on the basis of information given by Amal, a classmate of Jishnu at Nehru College. According to Amal’s statement, the Jishnu committed suicide after depressed in the incident happened in the College. The exam invigilator had found Jishnu copying while the exam and scold him, is the reason of the hanging.

 Former college vice Principal N K Sakthivel, PRO Sanjith Viswanath and two others were accused in the case as per the police registered.

According to the CBI, the case has been registered by the Pazhayannoor police station, is re-registered by them, and in that case there were no accused has been included in the case.

The role of the accused, which was added later, will be also investigated. The CBI seeks the files related to this case, to the Kerala police.

The Supreme Court ordered an investigation in this case over the petition filed by Jishnu Pranoy's mother Mahija in the Supreme Court.
