Heavy rains in the southern Kerala, One Killed

Thiruvananthapuram: South Kerala gets heavy rain due to depression formed off in Arabian Sea. The Meteorological Center said that the low humidity near Kanyakumi has risen to the northwest direction. Road transport is stuck between Kanyakumari and Nagercoil. One died when a tree fell on an auto rickshaw in Kottarakkara.

The district collector's was announced a leave after afternoon of heavy rains in Thiruvananthapuram district.  Trains have been cancelled from Nagercoil Kochuveli and Kanyakumari Kollam MEMU.

Traveling to tourist destinations in the High Range and sea shore was banned. Control rooms have been opened in all the taluks of Thiruvananthapuram district. The Meteorological Center has suggested that the fishermen should not remain in the sea and that the coastal residents should be cautious. Alert to the ports of southern Kerala has also been directed.

Traffic restrictions have been imposed from 6 am to 6 pm in hilly areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kottayam. Kalladaar coastal residents have to be cautious. In Idukki, heavy winds blaze. It is from Kottayam and from morning to early weather and rain.
