Around 6,000 kg of fish contain formalin was seized from Kozhikode

Kozhikode: About 6000 kg fish contain formalin seized from Vadakara in Kozhikode. The food department has seized fish brought from Tamil Nadu Nagapattanam. This poison fish was taken from Kozhikode market to Kannur but was taken back to Kozhikode without accepting it as rotten. However, the vehicle was damaged at Vadakara Kottakkadavu, Department of Motor Vehicles launched a search, and the stale fish was found.

The food security department then reached the spot and was initially diagnosed with the formalin added fish. The food security officials said that after further inspections, other chemicals included in the fish could be identified.
