Abhaya case: Fr. Jose Puthrukkayil Acquitted

Thiruvananthapuram: In the case of Sister Abhaya, Fr. Jose Puthrukkail was acquitted. The verdict is done by the CBI Court of Thiruvananthapuram. The court also directed that other accused Fr. Thomas Kottoor and Sister Stephi should face the trial. The court had on Friday delivered the acquittal on the petition filed by Fr. Puthrukkayil, Fr. Kottoor, and Sister Stephi before for seven years ago. Earlier, the verdict had postponed twice.

The CBI was arrested Fr. Thomas Kottoor, Jose Puthrukkayil and Sister Stephi in November 2008 based on the evidence circumstances of the case and the Narco Test. They were later granted bail by the High Court in a one-and-a-half month’s remand. After six months, a charge-sheet was filed against the accused with charging murder case and demolishing the evidence. The accused alleged that the case was framed purposefully and filed petition in the court.
