The Supreme Court will hear about 22 fake encounters in Gujarat

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has said that a detailed argument will be heard in the 22 in the fake encounter in Gujarat.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi ordered that the government should submit an affidavit on the report of the supervisory committee regarding the inquiry into the Gujarat government within seven days. On 12th the petition will be heard again. The petition filed by Javed Akhtar. The other members of the bench were Justices SK Kaul and KM Joseph.

In 2012, a surveillance commission was appointed as the head of the Supreme Court Judge HS Bedi to monitor the investigation of fake encounter killings.

Additional Solicitor General Thushar Mehta appearing for the Gujarat government opposed this report. Though the Gujarat government had asked for time till Christmas, the Supreme Court allowed only seven days submitting the affidavit.

Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan appeared for Javed Akhtar.
