The Lavalin case was extended

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has postponed the considering Lavalin case. The petition filed by the accused in the Lavalin case has been changed.

 In the meantime, the accused wanted postponed the hearing in the case. KSEB former officials Kasturiranga Iyer and R Sivadasan demanded to extend the case for a month. However, the CBI has not yet filed appeal against the high court verdict to acquittal of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and three others.

The fourth accused and the former Chief Engineer of KSEB, Kasturirangala Iyer who wanted more time to file document dealing with the Lavalin case. Personal difficulty is the third accused and former chairman of KSEB R Sivadas pointed out in the court.

Sivadas' lawyer told the court that the case should be changed if the appeal was filed by CBI.

On August 23rd, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, former power Secretary K.Mohanchandran and joint secretary A. Francis were acquitted from the case by High Court. Two accused have approached the Supreme Court pointing out that the court have different approach to the accused in the same case.
