The first airport in Sikkim was dedicated by the PM to the country

Gangtok: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the first airport in Sikkim in Gangtok. The airport is about 33 km away from Gangtok. The PM said that he has been fortunate enough to dedicate huge projects to the country. He said in his speech that the first airport in Sikkim is included in this luck. With the launch of the airport, Prime Minister said the country has scored a hundred in the number of airports.

The construction of the airport, spread across 206 acres, begins in 2009. Construction cost is 605.59 crore.

Prime Minister arrived in Sikkim on Sunday evening for participating in various events. Governor Ganga Prasad, the Chief Minister of Sikkim and other prominent leaders, welcome the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister also returned after a speech at St. Xavier's School in Pakyong.
