Supreme Court notice to Election Commission

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the Election Commission of India on a plea by the Opposition parties to demand 50% VVPAT should be ensured in the Lok Sabha elections. The apex court had directed that the stand will disclose within 25th of this month.

The Supreme Court directed that an officer in the Election Commission should come to help the court on 25. Opposition parties have demanded VVPAT to ensure 50% of the next Lok Sabha elections if they can not return to the ballot.

Opposition parties have demanded that to count full VVPAT slips if the vote difference of the candidates for the first and second candidates be 5 percent.
