Supreme Court approval with conditions for euthanasia

New Delhi: Supreme Court sanctioned for passive euthanasia or withholding medical treatment to allow a terminally-ill patient to die. 'Human beings have the right to die with dignity, said Supreme Court.

 A five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, said that the guidelines will be in force till legislation on the same is passed by Parliament.

The patient without getting proper medical facilities and also fighting with disease may be allowed to the passive euthanasia, court said.

The Supreme Court verdicts on the petition filed by Common course -an organisation seek euthanasia to be legal, reports said.

The decision made by district judge according to the verdict. The petition filed by the relative of patient will be considering by the district judge.
