Sri Lankan navy detained 10 Indian fishermen

Rameswaram: Sri Lankan navy detained 10 fishermen. The fishermen were arrested after they were fishing near the Srilankan Island, Fisheries department officials said.

Gangadharan, assistant director of fisheries department, alleged that the fishermen of AkkaraPettah in Nagapattinam district were arrested.

Fishermen and Boat were taken to the Kankesandura Island, he added.

The Sri Lankan Navy had seized 25 fishing boats of 1,600 fishermen and returned the fishermen. On November 7, the Sri Lankan navy arrested four Indian fishermen from Puthukkottai district.
