New Delhi: AIADMK Amma leader TTV Dinakaran has been booked for allegedly offering bribe, the Election Commission of India (ECI) officers, for the party symbol, reports said.
The FIR was registered by the Delhi Police of Crime Branch for offering the bribe of Rs. 1.5 crore with BMW and Mercedes car, sources said.
The development comes after the arrest of an alleged middleman from a five star hotel in South Delhi. Police said they recovered from Mr. Sukesh Rs. 1.3 crore, which he was planning to use to bribe Election Commission officials.
According to reports, the Dinakaran offered 50 lakhs to the officials that the 'two leaves' symbol assured for the Sasikala group.
Crime Branch drafted a summons to Dinakaran for attend in the interrogation, and hand over the reports to the Election Commission. Dinakaran, the nephew of Sasikala, was a candidate in the by election held in RK Nagar from Sasikala group. But the election was frozen later.
Dinakaran denied the bribery charges, reports added.
