Panchkula: The National Investigation Agency court (NIA) has shifted the Samjhauta Express blast case to March 14. A Pakistani woman filed a petition in the case, following the shift of verdict. The petition was filed in court seeking permission to submit fresh evidence in the 12-year-old case.

On February 19, 2007, at least 68 people were killed in a Samjhauta train blast at Haryana. Many were wounded. Most of the deceased were from Pakistan and train security personnel from India.

It was initially thought SIMI terrorists were behind the blast. But a confession of Swami Aseemanand came out. Aseemanand revealed before the court that Hindu extremists were behind the incident.
