Polling Underway in Chhattisgarh; Maoists threat in the region

Raipur: The first phase of the polling underway in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada, the Maoists launch a blast near polling station here, reports said. The blast occurred in the early morning. Prior to the polls, over two kilos of IED has been seized from the Kattekalyan region.

The polling in Chhattisgarh's Women's Booth and Chief Minister Raman Singh, Rajnandangaug has been frozen for few hours due to the technical problems of electronic voting machines. The problem was resolved and the polling was restarted after a few hours.

The Maoist threat is in danger and voting is in progress under heavy protection. Polling is in progress for 18 constituencies.

In the first hours, 14 percent of the polling was recorded. 52 out of 4,336 polling stations were delayed by technical reasons. However, polling is done smoothly in all polling stations.

Voting is being held in heavy security bridges. Even in areas with the Maoist influence, the polls are going peacefully. Meanwhile, three IEDs have been found from the polling station in Konda. The efforts to define these are continuing.

Maoists launched a blast on Sunday in this region killed one BSF jawan.
