Former minister Manju Verma surrenders before court in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur: Manju Verma, former minister of state for political affairs, has finally surrendered before the court on the case of sexual abuse in a hostel in Muzaffarpur. Manju Verma, who was the minister in the Nitish Kumar ministry, surrendered in a court in Begusarai. The Supreme Court has criticized the Bihar government and the police for failing to arrest the former minister. He also demanded that the Chief Minister of State be given an explanation as before 27th November.

Last week, Manju's anticipatory bail plea was rejected. Non-bailable arrest warrant issued. Manju was the minister of social welfare and resigned in August. Manju's husband Chandrashekhar Varma was the close friend of Brajesh Thakur, who led the sexual assault at the shelter. He surrendered.
