Trivandrum: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), India’s leading SUV manufacturer successfully concluded the 1st edition of the ‘Mahindra Adventure Kashmir to Kanyakumari Drive’ from July 9thto July 24th, under the Mahindra Adventure umbrella brand.The ‘Mahindra Adventure Kashmir to Kanyakumari’ drive has traversed over 4500 KM passing through the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The 27 expedition ready are being driven to Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu), covering the entire length of the country in 16 daysin the pursuit of unfolding the magic India has to offer adventure-seekers. A drive that was sprinkled with uncertainty, diversity as well as adventure. The drive was flagged off from India Palace Houseboats, Srinagar.Speaking on the occasion, VivekNayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “A drive from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is one of the most challenging and intriguing experiences. Indeed, for most, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Mahindra vehicles with their tough and rugged DNA made it an ideal choice to overcome a long distance overland expedition such asthis. The drive aptly created awareness about road safety while giving the participants an opportunity to experience the incredible landscape of our vast country.” Popularly known as K2K, this journey started with a beautiful sunrise at the enchanting Nigeenlake and followed the Srinagar Jammu highway to reach the Holy city of Amritsar via the magnificent Dhauladhar range in Dharamshala. The convoy then entered the royal state of Rajasthan, where convoy reached the highest point in Rajasthan, Mt. Abu and visited the sandy dunes of Biikaner. After experiencing the splendor of Rajasthan, the convoy moved west to the camps of DesadaRann. From here the journey moved south towards Goa, from where the convoy made a detour towards Masangudi, near the Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, a tiger reserve in Karnataka. The last stretch of drive took the convoy from the Nilgiri range towards Kanyakuamari, the southernmost tip of the India.Through this drive, Mahindra Adventure promoted the message on ‘Road Safety’ with emphasis on wearing seat belts and helmets. The Mahindra fleet saw a mix of Scorpio, XUV500, Tharalongside newer entrants to the Mahindra stablelike, NuvoSport and TUV300.The varied landscape of the terrainengaged the participants while keeping them surprised as they drove through mountains, sand dunes, plains, coastlines, and eventually take the monsoons head on. Participants were treated to the best possible hospitality and the extensive dealer network of Mahindra played a big role in making the experience one to remember.
