Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan Review
3.5 stars - based on 5 reviews

The much awaited Malayalam movie Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan has been released on 18 November 2016. The two-hour-20-Minute movie promising enough as it assures to have all the elements of fun, romance and thrills. This comedy entertainer doesn't have any superstars in the Cast, but it stars scriptwriter-turned-actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan plays the lead role for the first time. From the film it is evident that Vishnu's character is an aspiring actor, who is called Hrithik Roshan in his village Kattappana. His performance has been garnering a good response from the audience. Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan is directed by Nadhirshah and produced by actor Dileep and Dr. Zachariah Thomas, is written by the movie's hero and Bibin George.

The movie begins from a youngster (Siju Wilson) decides to commit suicide due to his love failure. He comes to know about Kichu from a letter He gets from the suicide point. Surendran (Siddique) hailing from Kattappana is a huge fan of actor Jayan. After Jayan’s death, in the hope of becoming the next big thing in the industry Surendran goes to Madras .But he returns back to his hometown after getting no chances in cinema. His hometown people mock him for failing to get a chance in films. So out of humiliation Surendran swears that his son will become a big star in the film industry. But Surendran’s son, Kichu does not have the good looks or brains to make it big in the industry. People make fun of him wherever he goes. Upon becoming a youth, Kichu’s yearning to become an actor becomes stronger. He also has two other wishes. Whether Kichu can fulfill his dreams forms the rest of the plot.

After a long time, Salim Kumar (as Chandran) has also given a superb performance in this film. Even though there is a bit of lag during some Comedy scenes, he has shown that he has the same fire in him just like in his heydays. Prayaga Martin (as Ann Maria), who is now one of the Most popular actresses of Mollywood, appears as the leading lady in the film. The film has an ensemble star cast comprising of actors like Dharmajan (as Dasappan), Siju Wilson, Rahul Madhav, Maheshinte Prathikaram fame Lijumol, Kottayam Nazeer, Kalabhavan Shajon etc., in Important roles. The technical side of the movie has a good cinematographer and editor. Renowned cinematographer Shamdatt Sainudeen has cranked the camera for the film and he has set some beautiful frames capturing the beauty of Thodupuzha and Kattapana. Editing department has been handled by Johnkutty and has done a decent job. But, he could have kept a note on the runtime of the film. Music of the movie by Nadirshah and songs in the movie were good.

The overall view Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan is an entertainer that serves its purpose. The film's biggest positive is the rollicking first half where the film has loads of humorous content. Much like Amar Akbar Anthony, Nadirshah and team have taken the route of addressing some issues with light humor. The storyline of the film isn't that fresh or different, but the sequences of the film and their presentation would keep you Engaged throughout. The best part is the fact that the team hasn't resorted to vulgar comedies to tickle your bones. What you get is pure and unadulterated humor. Importantly, family relationships have been given due importance in the film. Yes, on the flip side the film has some Lagging moments and clichéd elements in the second half, but that doesn't affect the overall entertainment factor of the product. If entertainment is your choice, then this movie will never disappoint you.
